Stewart is a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) and a member of the Resource Management Law Association.Stewart has over 20 years’ experience in planning, including working as Senior Planner and Consultant for different Councils across the South Island.
Stewart has experience in applying land use concepts and in dealing with statutory processes and planning principles, including social, economic and environmental matters and in that connection, he has dealt with the assessment of numerous complex planning applications including large multi-unit developments, multi-lot subdivisions and commercial developments. Stewart has detailed knowledge of the different legislation affecting planning and development which includes the preparation and presentation of submissions at hearings, representation at mediation sessions and Environment Court. Stewart has strong advocacy skills and ability to deliver outcomes sought by clients. His experience in local government, including consultation for many local councils gives him an in-depth understanding of the planning approval process which is used for the benefit of clients. |
